1.Where did you get married?

We got married at The Gallery here in Houston.
2. What was your first dance song?
Our first dance song was “You Have My Attention” by Copeland
3. What was your favorite part of the wedding?
My favorite part of the wedding was every part that had to do with getting married to Jeff (our vows, being pronounced, etc.), but also the first look we did before the ceremony. It was fun getting to see Jeff’s reaction to seeing me for the first time and getting to share some private time before we were the center of attention all night.
4. What are you glad you splurged on?
I am glad we splurged on photo and video. We got high quality products that have forever captured our special fleeting moments of that night.
5.  What is your advice for furture brides?
The best advice I was given for my actual wedding was to stay with my husband the whole night. The whole night was happening for us and it was easy for people to try to talk to us and separate us from each other. We talked to everybody as a pair and stuck together the whole night and we were able to enjoy it together!

Spotlight on Wedding Hair!

On Tuesday, we had a meeting with the fabulous Jessica over at Adorne Artistry, to talk about trends in bridal hair fashion and accessories and, most importantly, how to wear them! A big tip in wearing hair pieces is ensuring that each hair piece is put in correctly. When worn right, fascinators and combs can be a stunning accent for your wedding day look, but if done incorrectly, you could end up with feathers tickling your face! When in doubt, your hair stylist should definitely know how to put your hairpiece in correctly so that you don’t look like a cockatoo!
Here are a few pieces we love and also carry in store! For her entire collection visit:

This stunning gold bridal hair clip features a brilliant rhinestone encrusted flowers with sprays of ivory feathers. The back of this clip has both a pin to fasten to a gown and an alligator clip to wear as a unique hair accent.

Modern and lovely, this feather fascinator doubles as a brooch, and can be worn in your hair or on your dress. At the center of the floral feather ornament, rhinestones sparkle in a unique arrangement. A spray of rhinestones stretches from one side, while a beautiful rhinestone dangle falls 3″ from the other side.
This fascinator features layers of translucent fabric to create the soft shape of the flower. Embellished with a sequin, crystal and pearl center detail. Soft feathers are scattered throughout to create modern addition to your bridal hairstyle.
Dazzling, dramatic and absolutely glamorous! This stunning bridal hair clip features a gorgeous center adornment encrusted with sparkling clear rhinestones and brilliant Swarovski crystal beads. Surrounding the stunning center embellishment are sprays of soft feathers and delicate netting that add an extra touch of glamour to this already wonderful piece. Available in both white and ivory.
If you are a Houston bride, we definitely recommend Adorne Artistry for makeup and hair, and also some great hair accessories!

What was your favorite part of your wedding?

I would have to say when my husband James saw me walking down the Aisle. He looked so in love. When my father handed me to him he whispered in my ear “You look absolutely beautiful”.  During the entire ceremony he kept whispering to me how much he loved my dress and how stunning I looked! It was really sweet and touching.

What are you glad you splurged on?

Definitely would have to say my wedding venue. My guest couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the place was and that the food & service was amazing!! Many people said our cocktail hour was the best they have ever seen. I loved all the details they provided us. It was worth every penny.

What was your first dance song?

“Everything” by Michael Buble. It was the first song my husband ever dedicated to me. We both knew it was going to be our wedding song one day. Ever since then I have been a big fan of his music.

Where did you get married?

We are both originally from New Jersey but moved to Houston two years ago. Since most of our friends and family members live in NJ we decided that having our wedding up there. Our ceremony was held at The Epiphany Church in Cliffside Park, NJ (which was my husband’s church since he was a little boy) and our reception was at The Seasons in Washington Township, NJ.

What is your advice to future brides?

My advice to future brides would be (if your budget permits) to have a videographer. As a wedding planner I had so many details at my wedding I would have wanted to see but unfortunately there is never enough time to enjoy it all. That’s why I’m excited to know that they were captured in video and I’ll be able to enjoy every moment and detail I missed with my husband & family.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?

Our first look.  Burton and I decided to break tradition and see each other before our ceremony. It allowed us the chance to share that intimate, romantic moment without anyone else around. It gave us a sense of calm and helped chase away any nerves we were having.  It made the actual ceremony feel much more relaxed. The other added bonus is that you and your wedding party can take the majority of your photos before hand so you have fewer photos to take after the ceremony. This keeps your guests from having to wait too long for photo time and gets you to your reception quicker!

What are you glad you splurged on?

Our venue.  Burton and I chose Agave Real in Katy for our ceremony and reception.  The major difference between Agave and other places, besides being gorgeous, is that it is considered an all-inclusive venue.  Their packages include a wedding coordinator, invitation package, catering, wedding cake, DJ… the list goes on!  This, of course, costs more but it saved a lot of hassle. I didn’t have to worry about shopping around for venues or planning every single detail myself.  If you have a little room in your budget to splurge, I would suggest finding yourself an all-inclusive venue.

What was your first dance song?

“Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban.  He’s always been one of my favorite artists.  I still remember hearing it for the first time on the radio. I knew immediately it would be the first song Burton and I would dance to as husband and wife.  The lyrics of the song are really symbolic of our relationship and how we feel about one another.  We started dance lessons a few months before the ceremony and had a special dance choreographed for us.  The process was not only fun but it was a nice escape from the rest of the wedding planning.  And we kept the whole thing a secret so our dance moves were a big surprise for our guests!

What is your advice to future brides?

Stay organized and ahead of schedule during the planning process!  I promise you will enjoy the entire experience a lot more when you’re not having to worry about last minute planning or decision making.  And, ask your husband-to-be for his opinions throughout the process.  Don’t let him get away with the “whatever makes you happy” attitude.  Let him know that his opinion really matters and include him as much as possible.  Yes, most of the focus is on the the bride, but the truth is, it’s about the two of you as a couple.  It was really important to me that our ceremony and reception reflect not only my style, but Burton’s as well.  My last piece of advice… have fun with it! : )

Congratulations again to our beautiful bride, Mrs. Elissa Clark!  ♥  ♥
